Bewitched

Still drawing on shards of broken earthenware as source material, Bewitched explores the notion that we sometimes imagine certain inanimate objects as having magical powers or that they might be under a spell of some sort. We often express this notion when we let breakable objects accidentally fall, or brush past objects on a ledge causing them to take a tumble.

In disbelief we might be heard to say “I don’t know what happened they just few out of my hands” for a time we seem capable of shrugging responsibility and lay the blame firmly on the objects or some other forces we think may be at work. The split seconds, often experienced in slow motion as the object shatters on the floor, is the time and space occupied by the images presented in Bewitched.
